戏剧学专业简介

一、专业定位

以培养熟知戏剧发展历史、理论、观念、思潮、风格等理论、思想资源，并能将其熟练地运用在剧目排练、剧团建设、作品评析、理论建设以及戏剧活动策划、戏剧团体规划等工作中的尖端人才为目标，建设国内一流、国际知名的戏剧学本科专业。

二、历史沿革

戏剧学专业的前身和缩影可以上溯到历史上戏文系开办的各个理论班，例如74级戏剧理论普通班、84级戏剧理论干部专修班、86级戏剧理论本科班等。2007年正式成立戏剧影视文学专业（戏剧理论方向），采取统一招生，一年级通识教育，二年级分方向的方式进行教学培养实践。经过十一年卓有成效的探索和耕耘，于2018年向教育部申报并升格为 “戏剧学”专业。

在全国起步早、历时久、影响大，其依托的专业主体戏剧影视文学专业在业界享有很高的知名度和美誉度。本专业孕育过《戏剧理论史稿》、《艺术创造工程》、《中国戏剧学史稿》、《曲学与戏剧学》、《戏剧的结构与解构》、《二十世纪中国话剧整体观》、《戏剧——综合的美学工程》、《艺术原理》、《曹禺剧作演出史》等戏剧学研究领域具有重大影响的理论成果。

本专业教学质量在国内同专业中位居前列，其骨干教师群体荣获了国家教学成果奖二等奖及上海市教学成果奖特等奖、国家级一流本科课程等荣誉。

拥有一批优质专业课程与教材，其中国家精品课程1门，上海市精品课程3门，上海市重点课程6门，上海戏剧学院编剧学教材丛书10册，以及相关专业教材20余本，其中部分教材荣获上海市普通高校优秀教材奖等奖项。

教师潜心学术，近年主持“国家哲学社会科学”、“国家哲学社会科学艺术学”、“教育部哲学社会科学”重大项目6项。另有国家社科、国家社科艺术学以及教育部哲学社会科学一般项目、青年项目十余项。此外，本专业教师积极参与创作，作品获得“国家艺术基金”、“上海文化发展基金”支持的重大题材和一般题材达十余项。

本专业多年来为国家输送了大量优秀的戏剧理论、评论、编剧和制作人才。坚持学以致用、教学实践并举的理念，历届学生在《探索与争鸣》、《上海戏剧》、《戏剧文学》、《上海艺术评论》、《剧作家》等核心刊物发表多篇理论文章。并有部分学生作品获得“国家艺术基金”、“上海市文化基金”资助。

Overview of the Theatre Studies Programme

• Orientation

The programme aims to cultivate top-notch talents who comprehend theoretical and ideological resources of theatre development, like its history, theories, concepts, trends of thought and styles, and utilise them skillfully in the work such as play rehearsal, troupe construction, work evaluation, theory construction, theatre event curation and theatre group planning, to build a domestically first-class and internationally renowned undergraduate programme in theatre studies.

• History

The predecessor and epitome of the Theatre Studies programme can be traced back to various theory classes run by the Department of Theatre Literature in history, such as the regular class of theatre theory in 1974, the cadre specialised class of theatre theory in 1984, and the undergraduate class of theatre theory in 1986. In 2007, the programme in Literature of Theatre, Film and Television (theatre theory track) was officially established. The track adopted unified enrollment, liberal education in the freshman year and specialised training in the sophomore year. After eleven years of effective exploration and hard work, it was approved and upgraded to the “Theatre Studies” programme by the Ministry of Education in 2018.

Our programme boasts an early start, a long history and a great influence in China. Based onthe programme of Literature of Theatre, Film and Television, which enjoys a very high popularity and reputation in the field, our programme has produced multiple influential theoretical achievements in theatre studies, such as “History Draft of Theatre Theory”, “Art Creation Project”, “History Draft of Chinese Theatre Studies”, “Opera Studies and Theatre Studies”, “Construction and Deconstruction of Theatre”, “Holistic View of Chinese Stage Play in the 20^th Century”, “Theatre– A Comprehensive Aesthetics Project”, “Art Principle” and “Performance History of Cao Yu’s Theatres”.

Excellent teaching quality

The teaching quality of the programme ranks among the best in similar programmes in China and the faculty has received honours such as the second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award”, the special prize of “Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award”, and the national first-class undergraduate programme.

Complete teaching materials

The programme has a number of high-quality specialised courses and textbooks, including one national quality course, three Shanghai quality courses, six Shanghai key courses, 10 volumes of textbooks of Playwrighting Studies of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and over 20 relevant academic textbooks, some of which have won awards like the “Excellent Shanghai College Textbook Award”.

Strong research strength

The faculty members in our programme are truly devoted to academic research, presiding over 6 major projects of “National Philosophy and Social Sciences”, “National Philosophy, Social Sciences and Art” and “the Ministry of Education’s Philosophy and Social Sciences” programs. Besides, there are over 10 general projects and youth projects under “National Social Sciences”, “National Social Sciences and Art”, and “the Ministry of Education’s Philosophy and Social Sciences” programs. The faculty also actively participate in creation and more than 10 of their works are supported as major projects by “National Art Foundation” and “Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation”.

Outstanding talent training

Over the years, the programme has provided many preeminent talents in theatre theory, criticism, playwrighting and production for the nation. Adhering to the concept of combining teaching and practice, students of the programme have published multiple papers in core journals like “Exploration and Free Views”, “Shanghai Theatre”, “Theatre Literature”, “Shanghai Art Review” and “Playwright”. Some of their works have won the support of “National Art Foundation” and “Shanghai Culture Foundation”.
